Research area: Distributed Systems, Sensor Networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence.

Niki is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies, University of Primorska and a Scientific Associate at the InnoRenew CoE.

During his undergraduate, graduate, and PhD studies in Computer Science, he developed research interests in distributed systems, sensor networks, and intelligent monitoring systems. His current work focuses on IoT systems, indoor air quality monitoring, AI-based data analysis, and distributed computing solutions. He is involved in several national and Horizon Europe research projects connected to smart environments and digital technologies.

In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing, mountaineering, and engaging in creative side projects.
